Privacy Policy

Information we collect

FreqCraft does not collect, transmit, store, or process any personal information. The application does not request internet access permission in its Android manifest. It is architecturally incapable of transmitting data over a network.

All session data, presets, frequency settings, and user preferences are stored locally on your device using Android’s standard local storage API (SharedPreferences). This data is accessible only to the FreqCraft application on your device.

Device permissions

FreqCraft’s Android manifest contains four permissions. Two are requested by the app; two are added automatically by Android system libraries when the app is built. All four are listed in full below: none collects data, and none can access a network.

• FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK Requested by the app. Allows audio playback to continue while the app is in the background.
• DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION Added automatically by Android. A private, signature-level permission that locks the app’s headphone-unplug listener so no other app on the device can reach it. Security only; it grants nothing outward.
• MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS Requested by the app. Lets the audio engine set up its own output stream. It changes nothing outside FreqCraft’s own playback and reads nothing.
• CHECK_LICENSE Added automatically by a Google Play system library. Lets the app confirm its own Play licensing status. Collects no personal data.
• DUMP Added automatically by a system library. Allows diagnostic output to the device’s own log. It is not usable by FreqCraft to read other apps, and nothing is transmitted.

This list is checked against the shipping app bundle itself, not against the source, before every release.

FreqCraft does not request INTERNET, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, READ_CONTACTS, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, CAMERA, MICROPHONE, or any other sensitive permission. With no network permission, the app is architecturally incapable of transmitting data off your device.

Analytics and crash reporting

FreqCraft contains no analytics frameworks, crash reporting SDKs, advertising SDKs, or any other third-party data collection tools. No usage data, session data, frequency preferences, crash logs, or diagnostic data is transmitted to Directive Craft LLC or any third party.

Children’s privacy

FreqCraft is intended for users aged 18 and older as disclosed in the in-app disclaimer. The application does not knowingly collect any information from any user, including minors.

Backups and moving to a new phone

FreqCraft is excluded from Android Auto Backup and from phone-to-phone transfer. Android backs most apps up to the owner’s Google Drive automatically, and copies app data across during device migration. Both are done by the operating system rather than by the app, so an app with no network permission can still have its data carried off the handset that way.

FreqCraft opts out of both. The app declares allowBackup="false" and ships data-extraction rules that exclude every file from cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer. Both are required: the first covers older Android versions, and the second closes a phone-to-phone gap that behaves differently on different manufacturers’ devices.

The trade-off is deliberate and it costs you something. Your presets and settings do not follow you to a new phone. There is no cloud copy to restore from, because there is no cloud copy. Write down any preset you would not want to rebuild.

Data retention and deletion

Because no data is transmitted to or stored by Directive Craft LLC, there is no data to retain or delete on our end. All locally stored app data (sessions, presets, settings) can be deleted at any time by uninstalling FreqCraft from your device or by clearing the app’s data through Android’s application settings.

Third-party services

FreqCraft does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or payment processors within the app itself. The one-time purchase is processed entirely by Google Play.

Google Play’s own privacy practices govern the purchase transaction. FreqCraft receives no personal information from Google Play as a result of a purchase.

Changes to this policy

If this policy is updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Because FreqCraft collects no data, any future changes are unlikely to affect your privacy in any material way.
